“J” Level Arch Sheet Metal

STARTING MARCH 6, 2019 

Course Curriculum: (32-Hour Training) 4 Hours, 8 Nights

This 32-hour class is designed to teach you some basics of fabricating and installing Architectural Sheet Metal.  The primary focus of this class will be on installation skills with plenty of hands on applications.  Getting a completion certificate for this class will certainly help make you more employable with roofing and architectural firms.  Don’t limit your options to ductwork!
              
                           1.     Introduction - Entrance Test - Arch
                           2.    Insulation / Weather Barriers / Furring
                           3.    Flush Seam Panels
                           4.    Cap and Counter (Coping and Counter Flashing)
                           5.    Stand Seams / Corrugated Panels
                           6.    Composite (Wet and Dri-Set Systems)
                           7.    Hook Seam and S-Slip Fab and Install
                       8.    General Knowledge - Exit Review and Final

GAS BURNER CODE REVIEW CLASS WILL BEGIN ON FEBRUARY 7, 2019
This 16-hour class will help you better understand the gas safety controls of a residential furnace and their operation. It will also cover proper gas piping procedures, pipe sizing, clocking, meter and gas troubleshooting, and combustion analysis (Orsat tests).

Class will be held on Thursdays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Training Center in Room 118 on 2/7, 2/21, 2/28 and 3/7/19. A current dues receipt is mandatory to attend class.

POWER LIMITED TECHNICIAN UPGRADE CLASS STARTS JANUARY 10, 2019
If you hold the Minnesota Power Limited Technician License, you are required to earn 16 hours of continued education for renewal of the license. Don't let your license lapse; it costs more money to renew if you do! This 16-hour class will give you the needed hours of upgrade training to maintain your license.

Power Limited Technician Upgrade classes will run from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Training Center in Room 118 on Thursdays 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31/19.  A current dues receipt is mandatory to attend class.

MECHANICAL CODE CLASS WILL BEGIN ON JANUARY 15, 2019
This 32-hour class is based on the 2015 Minnesota Mechanical and Fuel Gas Code.  This class will also help prepare you for the Twin Cities Warm Air & Ventilation Competency Exam.  It’s also very helpful for foremen and superintendents as well as detailers and estimators.  Participants in this class are required to provide their own codebook.  For your convenience, codebooks will be available (at our cost) at the Training Center.

Eight 4-hour classes will be held on Tuesdays/Wednesdays 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/6, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26 and 3/6 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Training Center in Room 124. A current dues receipt is mandatory to attend class.

OPEN WELD
 Wednesday nights 4:30 - 8:30

This class is open to all members wishing to learn new weld skills or enhance existing ones, whether it is oxy-fuel, stick, wire, or heliarc welding. Various certifications will be attainable within this class for those wishing to certify, including structural and lagging weld certs. This is an open-entry, open-exit class. You may want to come in for one night only to re-certify or spend a dozen nights practicing for the D1.1 Structural certification.
