MSHA (Mine Safety & Health Administration) Class Starting Soon

An MSHA Card is mandatory for a lot of the work coming available in the northern part of Local 10. This 24-hour class meets MSHA requirements for initial training of new personnel without previous mining experience. Curriculum includes: Rights of Miners, introduction to the work environment, transportation/ground control, communication systems, respiratory devices, hazard recognition, evacuation plans, and more. An OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card is a prerequisite for this class.

OSHA CLASS

More and more job specifications are requiring that at least one person per crew on the job site carry an OSHA certification.  Put yourself in a good situation and get this card! The first two nights of this class can get you an OSHA-10 card, but finishing the last four nights will get you the OSHA-30 card. Sign up today - we need just a few more students in order to get this class scheduled!

LEED PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION CLASS STARTING SOON

We will be scheduling a LEED Class soon. Take advantage of this opportunity to start the process to become a LEED Green Associate!

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, is the most widely recognized and respected third party certification program for "green" buildings. This 24-hour class is an introduction to some of the specifics of sustainability and building Green, the LEED rating system, and how to start the process to become a LEED Green Associate and on to the Accredited Professional status if desired.

LOAD CALCULATION & DUCT DESIGN CLASS - STARTS JULY 12!

LOAD CALCULATION & DUCT DESIGN CLASS has been scheduled for July 12, 14, 19, & 21, 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. This 16-hour class will focus on the proper method to calculate heat loss for a residential home using a Manual J workbook and spreadsheet. Information from the spreadsheet will be used to calculate the heat loss for each room and the entire house. Duct design will incorporate information from the heat loss spreadsheet to design a duct system to distribute the correct amount of air to each room to satisfy the load.  Note: This class qualifies for NATE Continuing Education Hours.

FORKLIFT OPERATOR CERTIFICATION

A four-hour Forklift Operator Certification Class has been scheduled for Thursday, April 21 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. This class will contain some classroom training and some time operating the forklift.  Upon successful completion of this class, you will receive a certification card that is good for three years.
